Description

Computes the MACD line (EMA12 − EMA26), 9-period signal, and histogram on Binance BTCUSDT 4-hour closes. The bias field folds line and histogram signs into one label for automations that should not reconstruct EMAs themselves.

What this endpoint provides

MACD line, signal line, histogram, and a bias (bullish when both MACD and histogram are positive, bearish when both are negative, mixed otherwise). Refreshed every 30 minutes so the histogram can move inside the current 4h bar.

Response fields

timeframe

macd

MACD line: 12-period EMA minus 26-period EMA of 4h closes.

signal_line

histogram

MACD minus signal. Positive means the line is above the signal.

bias

bullish (MACD and histogram > 0), bearish (both < 0), or mixed.

Interpretation & Use

Bullish bias is momentum confirmation (line and histogram both above zero). Bearish is the opposite. Mixed is a crossover / disagreement zone — often the first hint that 4h momentum is turning before price has fully reversed.
